Sally and Brennan Hensley announce the Bar Mitzvah of their son Jackson at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Congregation Beth Torah.
Jackson is the grandson of Charles (Bud) Weneck and the late Nancy Weneck. He has two siblings: Cooper, 10, and Maddie, 7. He is interested in theater, acting and singing.

Lainie and Jim Decker announce the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Gabriel Diamond Decker, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Congregation Beth Torah.
Gabriel is the grandson of Harry Krop and Dawn Burgess-Krop of Gainesville, Florida; Janet Krop and Larry Davis of Hollywood, Florida; and Orian and Betty Decker of Overland Park, Kansas. He is the brother of Isaac Decker.
He enjoys piano, drums, bass, composing, baseball, tennis and board games. He is a student at Leawood Middle School, where he serves as a student ambassador. For his mitzvah project, Gabriel is collecting cooking and baking supplies to stock the Beth Torah kitchen. Extra supplies will be distributed to other organizations including reStart and JVS.

Tuba and Mark Fehr, of Bethesda, Maryland, announce the birth of their son, Riley Demir Fehr, on Sept. 12, 2018. He was eight pounds, 12 ounces and 19 and 1/4 inches long. His big sister, Lydia Derin Fehr, is very happy she has a little brother.
Grandparents are Stephanie and Donald Fehr, Rye Brook, New York, formally of Kansas City, Missouri, and Ferihan and Ilhan Sural of Istanbul. Great-grandparents are Irene “Dolly” Fehr and the late Louis A. Fehr, and the late Sylvia Ruth Eveloff Feldman of Overland Park.

Robin Gale Jaffe of Overland Park, Kansas, and Rabbi Zev Wolf Golub of Brooklyn, New York, announce their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of Sylvia and David Goldstein of blessed memory. She is the mother of six adult children, Michael Jaffe, Sara Jaffe Juster (Matthew Sunkin), Anna Jaffe (Michael Horine), Tamar Jaffe Reyes (Michael Reyes), Marina Jaffe (Michel Valdez, fiancé), and Jonathan Jaffe (Violet).
She is an artist and an instructor of English as a Second Language and Iyengar yoga for adults at the Jewish Community Center and Village Shalom.
The future groom is the son of Rose and Lawrence Golub of blessed memory. He is the father of two adult children, Michele Seelenfreund (David) and Kenneth Golub (Ilana).
He is a semi-retired businessman and a semi-retired Modern Orthodox rabbi at Shore Park Jewish Center in Brooklyn.
They each have eight grandchildren.
A winter wedding is planned in Overland Park.

Bob and Debbie Hennecke announce the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Arlo Natan, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Congregation Beth Torah.
Arlo is the grandson of Gene Mallin and the late Sanford Mallin and Mary Ann Micco and the late Bob Micco.
Arlo is a seventh-grader at California Trail Middle School. He enjoys science and video games. Arlo has performed on stage the past three summers at Theater Camp at The J.
Relatives and friends are invited to worship with the family and to attend the Kiddush luncheon following the service. As part of Arlo’s mitzvah project, those attending are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and toiletries to be donated to the JFS Food pantry.

Benjamin Clayman and Brandy Clayman announce the Bat Mitzvah of their daughter, Jada, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Congregation Ohev Sholom.
Jada is the granddaughter of Lois and Alvin Clayman of Overland Park, Kansas, and Gayle and Randy Heirling of Edmond, Oklahoma. She is the great granddaughter of Anne & Al Deutch and Fannye and Benjamin Clayman, all of blessed memory.
Jada’s love of animals was the reason she chose her mitzvah project, fostering and taking care of puppies. She saved them from euthanasia and was responsible for many puppy adoptions. Jada has been a lover of sports since she was a small child and is now engaged in playing volleyball. She also loves boating and waterskiing.

Scott and Cindy Price Harper of Chesterfield, Missouri, announce the engagement of their son, Joseph Cole Harper, to Taylor Lynn Edwards, daughter of Stacy and Bill Parks of Chicago.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Henry and Pamela Edwards. She attended Roosevelt University in Chicago, earning a master’s degree in clinical psychology. She is a member of the Goldendoodle Lovers Club and is currently employed at Delrey MD in Los Angeles.
The future groom is the grandson of Adele Price of Leawood and the late N. Joseph Price, and the late Robert and Dorothy Harper. He attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, earning a bachelor of finance degree. He is a member of AEPi and is currently employed as a technology entrepreneur in Los Angeles.
An Oct. 27 wedding at a winery in Temecula, California, is planned.

Aimee and Steve Bernstein with April and Stuart Gelman announce their son Miles Eytan Gelman will become a Bar Mitzvah at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah.
Miles is the grandson of Janice and Michael Sandler of Overland Park, Marcia Gelman of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, and Michael and Bobbie Gelman of Medford, New Jersey, and the step-grandson of Dr. Phyliss and Robert Bernstein and Pam and Paul Saunders. Miles is the great-grandson of Marietta and Nathan Sandler and Anne and Al Deutch, all of blessed memory.
Miles enjoys building and creating. His mitzvah project, “The Giving Brick,” enables kids in foster homes to do the same. Miles is a musician, playing the trombone in his school band and the ukulele. He loves to bike and run cross country for his school, but mostly he looks forward to summers at Herzl Camp.

Judith Belove Pachino will celebrate her 80th birthday on Sept. 18. Born and raised in Kansas City, she will mark the occasion with members of her family including Cari Becker, Robert Becker, Chelsea Becker, JM Becker, Eric Glick and Ryan Glick.

Lisa and Matthew Rothenberg of Skokie, Illinois, announce the birth April 11 of a daughter, Leora Ruth. Leora is the granddaughter of Carla and Neil Banoff of Skokie and the great-granddaughter of Leona Molotsky of Chicago. She is the great-great-granddaughter of the late Elk and Anna Peltzman, who lived in Kansas City.
