Mr. and Mrs. Paul Uhlmann III of Mission Hills announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Bloch Uhlmann, to Aaron Hunstiger Blazar, son of Mary Hunstiger and William Blazar of Minneapolis.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Bloch and Mr. Paul Uhlmann Jr. and the late Mrs. Uhlmann. She attended Colby College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

She is currently employed as a librarian for Boston Public Schools in Boston while working toward a Master of Science degree in library and information science from Simmons College.

The future groom is the grandson of Mrs. Eugene Hunstiger and the late Mr. Hunstiger and Mrs. Mitchell Blazar and the late Mr. Blazar. He attended Colby College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. He is currently employed with Atlantic-ACM in Boston.

A May 7 wedding at The Kansas Country Club is planned.

Jeff and Leslie Addadi announce the Bat Mitzvah of their daughter, Leorah Eva Addadi, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah. Leorah is the granddaughter of Jacob and Mary Addadi of Overland Park and Stanley and Cecile Stern of Springfield, Ill. Great-grandfather is Victor Bruller of Kansas City, Mo.

Jim and Katie Gerson announce the Bat Mitzvah of their daughter, Elizabeth Kwo Gerson, at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at The New Reform Temple. Elizabeth is the granddaughter of Peter and Julie Gerson and David and Anne Kwo.

Jessica Suzanne Myer and Aaron Craig Whitaker were married on Oct. 2 at Crowne Plaza Hotel Beach, Shipyard Plantation, Hilton Head, S.C.

The bride is the daughter of Rita Myer and the late Irving Myer and the granddaughter of Margaret Smith and the late William Smith and the late Eda and Jake Myer.

The groom is the son of Judy Hayes and Rodney Whitaker, both from Concord, N.C.

Co-matrons of honor were Kristie MacDonald, Lenexa, and Michele Boudreau, Indian Trail, N.C. Bridal attendants were Marcia George, Raymore, Mo., Glendy Shannon, Stillwell, Kan., and Robin Whitaker, Charlotte, N.C.

The best man was Toby Whitaker, Charlotte. Groom’s attendants were Caleb Whitaker, Charlotte, Jason Myer, Overland Park, Darion Adcock, Charlotte, and Tavares Johnson, Charlotte.

Others in the wedding party were Leonard Smith, usher, of Springfield, Mo.; Sharon Smith, reader, of Springfield; and Fran Veldran, officiant.

After a honeymoon in Secret Sanctuary in Cap Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple now reside in Charlotte.
