Todah rabah to the dedicated volunteers who delivered Purim simcha gift bags to more than 500 Jewish seniors in our community. Organized by Chabad House of Overland Park, simcha gifts are prepared by women from the community five times each year — for Rosh HaShanah, Chanukah, Purim, Passover, and Shavuot.

Recipients include members of reform, conservative and orthodox congregations as well as the unaffiliated, those living independently and residents in nursing homes. Many of them are Holocaust survivors.

Please consider volunteering to deliver simcha gifts for Passover, with no-contact pickup at Chabad House on March 14 and no-contact delivery to be made before sundown March 19. If you are able to participate, or if you know of someone who did not receive a Purim bag and should be added to the list of recipients, please email by March 9.

Financial support is also appreciated to underwrite costs associated with filling nearly 3,000 bags annually. Tax-deductible contributions to SIMCHA GIFTS can be mailed to Blumah Wineberg, 10258 Glenwood Street, Overland Park, KS  66212.

This is truly a project that cannot be accomplished without you!

Chag sameach.
