Meriel Winn, 102, passed peacefully early in the morning on March 28. She was the wife of Stanley D. Winn (z"l). 

She was predeceased by her parents, Jack Shapiro and Jeanette (Pollack) Shapiro, and sister, Shirley Siegel. Her children are Ronald Winn of Endicott, New York; Marilyn Abrams (Marc) of Denver, Colorado (previously St. Louis, Missouri); and Dr. Randall Winn (Mara) of Sarasota, Florida. Grandchildren are Miles Abrams, Jason Abrams (Jennifer), Jana Wojcik (Todd), Geoffrey Winn and Alexander Winn. There are six great-grandchildren.

Meriel was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and moved to Kansas City, where she resided for the rest of her life. She enjoyed her friends, especially the “Bogey Bums.” She loved her family very much. She played cards and golf at Oakwood Country Club. Meriel was a long-time member of The Temple, Congregation B'nai Jehudah. She was a member of the National Council of Jewish Women.

The family greatly appreciates the care given to Meriel by In-Home Care Services and Kansas City Hospice.

Graveside services were held on March 29 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rabbi Caitlin Brazner officiating.
