Judy Chaiken, 84, of Overland Park, Kansas, died Nov. 1, 2023.

Judy was born July 27, 1939, to the late Lewis and Irene Tave in Erie, Pennsylvania. She received her degree in nursing from Buffalo General Hospital School of Nursing. Working as a surgical and registered nurse in Buffalo, New York; Cleveland, Ohio; and Kansas City. She married Edward Chaiken in 1966 and relocated to Overland Park, Kansas, where they raised their family and made lifelong friendships in the same community for 54 years.

Being an avid bridge and mahjongg player allowed her to create long lasting friendships within the community. She loved spending time playing piano, games, walking with friends through the neighborhood and yoga. She always had a special connection for all animals, making them part of the family.

She is survived by sons Matthew and Lee Chaiken; brother William (Bill) Tave; sister Denise Gottlieb and her husband Howard Gottlieb. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Edward Chaiken. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
