Myra Rosenberg Litman, M.D., of Leawood, Kansas, died on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023.

Funeral services were held on Feb. 6 at Louis Memorial Chapel, and burial was at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests charitable contributions be made to the Anti-Defamation League.

Myra was born Feb. 15, 1930, to the late Hyman and Bertha Glassman in Baltimore, Maryland, and moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at three years old where she and her sister were raised. She did her undergraduate degree at Temple University and started medical school there. She then transferred to UCLA Medical School and graduated in 1955 in UCLA’s second graduating medical school class. As a Jewish woman, she filled both quotas and was far ahead of her time.

She became an anesthesiologist and married her late husband Alan W. Rosenberg, M.D., a neurosurgeon, in 1958. They lived in Woodland Hills, California, and there they raised their two children, Brian and Judi.

Her husband passed away in 1982, and she was blessed again and married Malcolm Litman from Kansas City in 1987. She then moved to Kansas City where she lived with her husband until his death in 2014.

She traveled extensively. Much of the travel was with three couples: Myra and Mal; her sister Ruth and brother-in-law Jay Winthrop; and their dear friends and in-laws, Lois and Manny Winston.

She was an active member of Kehilath Israel Synagogue in Overland Park, Kansas, and was a lifelong contributor to many Jewish charities all over the world.

Myra was preceded in death by her husbands Alan and Mal; her brother in law Jay; and her niece Cheryl.

She is survived by her daughter, Judi; son, Brian; her beloved sister, Ruth; grandchildren Matthew, Joshua, Alex, Holden and Max; and nieces and nephews, Mark, Stuart, Ellen and Gail.
