Marion Rosen, 97, of Village Shalom, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2022. 

Funeral services were held Dec. 29, 2022, at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery, 1901 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Independence, Missouri 64052.

Marion Benjamin was born Oct. 12, 1925, in London, England, to the late Esther and John Benjamin. Marion had one sister, Jenny Joan Sober. Marion lived through the London Blitz and was sent out of London at age 13 to the country. Marion attended business school one year and then worked for the U.S. Army and Navy during the war. 

Marion met her future husband, Joe Rosen, when he was serving in the Navy and living in the same apartment building as Marion’s parents during World War II. After the war, Marion and her mother were on the maiden voyage of the RMS Queen Elizabeth when they traveled to Kansas City to meet Joe's family and marry on Dec. 29, 1946.

Marion was a longtime volunteer at the Menorah gift shop, K.I. Sisterhood, Hadassah, B'nai Brith, City of Hope, Cub Scouts and Room mother. Marion was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved playing games of all kinds.

Marion is predeceased by her husband, Joe Rosen, and her parents and sister. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. David and Kim Rosen of Wichita, Kansas, and Dr. Larry and Roberta Rosen of Leawood, Kansas; grandchildren Marc and Melissa Rosen, Lori and Mike Zeinfeld, Judge Benjamin and Lisa Rosen, Dr. John and Kristin Rosen, and Elizabeth and Isaac Chopp; and great-grandchildren Alex and Nathan Rosen, Maddie and Abby Zeinfeld, Claire and Sam Rosen, Dylan Rosen, Gabe Diaz, and Stella and Leo Chopp. She is also survived by her loving brother-in-law Eddie Rosen, sister-in-law Nedra Rosen and many loving nieces and nephews.
