Jewish Family Services (JFS) is celebrating its 120th anniversary, and this year, United Way of Greater Kansas City named it one of its inaugural Impact 100 organizations.

This special designation provided unrestricted funding to the 100 organizations United Way believes are addressing the most vital health and human service needs in the community.

“At United Way, we believe our community’s strength is amplified when we work together to help our neighbors,” said Chris Rosson, United Way of Greater Kansas City president and CEO. “We are inspired by the dedication of our Impact 100 partners, like Jewish Family Services of Kansas City, who meet families right where they are to provide critical resources for mental health, nutrition, housing, senior support and more to propel economic mobility for all.”

JFS has been a longtime partner with United Way.

“JFS and United Way have been partners since United Way was founded in our community," said Don Goldman, executive director and CEO. “JFS is proud to continue that partnership as one of the 100 Impact partners so that we can better serve the 10,000 people who need our help, whether at one of our food pantries, by using one of our services that help older adults age in their homes or using our mental health counseling.”

A Sunshine Committee from United Way recently visited JFS to see firsthand the work being done by the agency, staff and volunteers.
