“May you live until 120" is a traditional Jewish blessing in remembrance of Moses’ long life.

Jewish Family Services celebrated its 120th anniversary this past Sunday, April 23, with its Birthday Bash at the Jewish Community Campus.

Hundreds of people from the community attended the event. The Birthday Bash included several hands-on service projects, a birthday party with sweet treats and kid-friendly activities, as well as a birthday-themed food drive.

The event capped off with an interactive performance with singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb. Loeb has recorded five children’s albums and two illustrated children’s books with music and won a Grammy Award for Best Children’s Album.

Presenting sponsors/families for the 120th Birthday Bash included the “Sunday Night Dinner Family,” consisting of the Barnett, Epstein, Isenberg, Babs & Bill Lowenstein, House and Poskin families.

For the year of celebration, JFS’s 120th Honorary Families include the Krigel, Regnier, Sosland, White and Fried families. All five families provide financial and philanthropic support as well as vital advocacy to JFS’s mission and the people it serves.

Following the Birthday Bash, JFS will host a 120th Celebration on Aug. 24 at The Madrid Theatre. Further details will be released soon; the entire community is invited to participate in this celebration.
