Jewish War Veterans (JWV) MO-KAN Post 605 is currently seeking applications for college scholarships for the 2022-23 academic year. Post 605 offers scholarships annually.

The Gertrude Pasmanik Scholarship is administered by Post 605 according to the will of Sam Pasmanik, which directs that the funds shall be “used to initiate or further the education of needy or worthy students.” The Post may also offer additional scholarships from its own funds.

These scholarships are awarded annually to students who are in or entering college. High school seniors, college students at any level (including graduate school) may apply. The primary requirement is that the applicant be related to a current or deceased member of Jewish War Veterans MO-KAN Post 605. Applicants should be prepared to offer documentation that they are related to a current or deceased member of the Post, if requested by the Post Scholarship Committee.

Jewish War Veterans MO-KAN Post 605 is active in community service in the Kansas City-Leavenworth area. Some of its community service programs include special awards to local Boy Scout troops, providing holiday gifts to hospitalized veterans, assisting local active-duty military personnel and their families, and providing honor guards and representing the Post at various ceremonies.
