Hadassah Greater Kansas City invites members, prospective members, family and friends to join  its virtual tour of the Michael Klein Collection at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, on August 30, 7:00-8:30 p.m., via Zoom. Educator/Curator Abby Magariel will focus on items from this collection for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot.

The Michael Klein Collection features works from Jewish communities around the world, spanning centuries and continents. During this program, participants will be able to explore Jewish art, history and culture through this collection of Judaica.

Magariel is a Kansas City-area native and has worked in informal, hands-on education since 2007. A graduate of Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Magariel completed an MA in Museum Studies at the University of Kansas. She worked first at the Kansas Museum of History in Topeka and then led the education team at the Watkins Museum of History in Lawrence.  Magariel joined The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah in July 2019 as the first educator/curator of the Michael Klein Collection.

Although this tour is free, donations to Young Judaea scholarships are welcome.

Shari Sokol, past president of Hadassah Greater Kansas City and Young Judaea chair, will share the latest information about Young Judaea. Through its support of Young Judaea, Hadassah provides experiences that last a lifetime for thousands of American children and young adults—at summer camps, Israel programs, year-round activities and volunteer experiences—shaping future leaders and ensuring Jewish continuity. Hadassah offers scholarships to approximately 300-400 campers per year.

Registration for this program is required by August 26. The registration link is www.hadassahmidwest.org/GKCjudaica. For more information, contact Phyllis Kohn, team membership and program chair, at or (913) 940-3217.
