What says “holiday” better than a sweet challah? There are many in our community who face food insecurity and cannot afford challah, let alone the other traditional foods of the High Holidays.
You can make a difference for more than 150 families by sponsoring a Rosh Hashanah meal kit provided by Jewish Family Services. A $25 donation will provide one family a delicious holiday meal kit including challah, roast chicken, soup, apples, dried fruit, honey, juice and other fresh produce.
“Monetary donations allow us to stretch donor’s dollar by using our bulk purchasing power and relationships with local partners to buy exactly what is needed,” said Jo Hickey, JFS food pantry director.
Donations for are needed by Aug. 13 in order to help underwrite the holiday meal kits. Donate online at www.jfskc.org/donate and select “Holiday” in the dropdown menu.
