Herbert and Beverly Fishman are to be honored by Kehilath Israel Synagogue during Shabbat services tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 5. This special recognition will be the first in a series of honors to individuals and families who have exemplified ongoing service and devotion to the synagogue. Lifelong members of KI, Herb and Beverly have been dedicated to KI from the time of their marriage more than 65 years ago to the present. It is also fitting that this same date is Herb Fishman’s 85th birthday. All are welcome to help celebrate this wonderful occasion. A Kiddush lunch will follow the service.

Lori and Bruce Hertzfield and Jose and Shannon Pires announce the Bat Mitzvah of their daughter, Rachel Pires, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at Congregation Beth Shalom. Rachel is the granddaughter of Clara and Norman Levine and the late Louis and Janice Katzberg. She is also the granddaughter of Margarida Pires and the late Jose Pires of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Todd Natenberg, Leawood, formerly of Highland Park, Ill., and his wife, Reena Natenberg, formerly of Montreal, gave birth Dec. 2 to twin sons, Arik “Ari” Natenberg and Theodore “Teddy” Natenberg. Grandparents are Cherie Natenberg and the late T. Paul Natenberg, Highland Park, and the late Anita and Bennie Berger, of Montreal. Great-grandmother is Henrietta Natenberg.

Allison and Chad Walton of St. Louis, Mo., announce the birth Oct. 19 of a son, Brooks Henry Walton. They are also the parents of Andrew and Grady. Grandparents are Lana and John Yunker of St. Louis and Michael and Debby Klayman of St. Louis. Great-grandparents are Leona Klayman and the late Robert Klayman, University City, Mo., and the late Bertha and Jack Rainen, Kansas City, Mo.

Sam Devinki and Barbara Mack Devinki announce the engagement of their son, Richard Abraham Devinki to Jennifer Miller of Los Angeles, daughter of Bernard and Hilde Miller.

The future groom is the grandson of Maria Devinki and the late Fred Devinki and the late Sima and Gerald Mack. He attended the University of Kansas, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. He has been an independent film and television producer in Hollywood for the past 14 years.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Meyer and Sally Miller and the late Matthias and Genofefa Reiter. She attended the University of Cal State Northridge, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in child development. She is presently the owner and operator of Fit By Pilates in Los Angeles.

The couple plan an August wedding in California.

Halley and Erich Goldstein announce the birth of a daughter, Zoey Rose, on Monday, Jan. 10. The Goldsteins are also the parents of a son, Maxwell Lane. Zoey is the granddaughter of Marci and Mark Klein, Suzy and Myron Goldstein, and Debbie and Mike Saferstein. She is the great-granddaughter of Maurice and Rhoda Dubinsky and Norma Saferstein.

Amy Ravis Furey and Brian Furey announce the birth Jan. 9 of a daughter, Emma Clair. The Fureys are also the parents of Michael. Emma is the granddaughter of Diane Ravis and the late Michael Ravis, Richard and Pat Furey of Spring Lake, N.J., and the late Glynis Furey.
