The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Milton and Marjorie Adler of Leawood, Kansas, and the late Beverly Karsh Edelstein and Myron Bernard of St. Louis, Missouri. After graduating from Shawnee Mission South High School, Rachel studied at Midreshet HaRova in Jerusalem, Israel. She attended the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She is a post-partum nurse at NYU’s Langone Hospital in New York City.
The future groom is the grandson of Marilyn and the late Leo Morris of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Ferd and the late Barbara Isserman of Chicago; and the late Herbert and Sadie Horwitz of St. Louis, Missouri. After graduating from Stern Hebrew High School in Philadelphia, Gavi attended Yeshivat HaKotel in Jerusalem. He enlisted as a lone soldier in the Israel Defense Forces, serving in the Kefir Brigade. He will graduate in June 2016 from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He plans to work for Johnson & Johnston as an Information Technology Associate Analyst in New Jersey.
A July 3, 2016, wedding in Lakewood, New Jersey, is planned.
The couple will live in the New York City area.
