Rabbi Karen Landy, a friend and co-worker of the bride, officiated, assisted by Cantor Hollis Schachner of Temple Shir Tikva in Wayland, Massachusetts, where the groom’s family are members.
Alison and Jason Rhodes of Asheville, North Carolina, announce the birth Oct. 23 of a son, Samuel Victor Rhodes. They are also the parents of a daughter, Ellie.
Seth Gilgus, a senior at Syracuse University, has been selected to the 2015 Empire Rugby Conference All-Conference 15’s Team at the position of center. He is one of six players from Syracuse to earn a spot on the 25-person team. Gilgus is the past president of the Syracuse University Hammerheads, the university’s rugby team, which he joined as a freshman. He is a graduate of Lee’s Summit West High School and was a co-founder of the Lee’s Summit rugby team for high school players. He is the son of Mark and Patty Gilgus.

Sara Ruth Krantz, 62, passed away Dec. 11, 2015, in Ottawa, Kansas. She was born June 20, 1953, to Miriam and Harry Krantz at Menorah Hospital in Kansas City. Sara is survived by her mother: Miriam; siblings: Anne Krantz (Myron Perlman), David Krantz (Lisa Pemstein), Rachel Krantz (Edward Goldstein); nieces and nephews: Sharon and Ellen Makowsky, Isaac and Michael Krantz-Perlman, Maya and Hannah Krantz, and Debbie Sams and family of Ottawa, Kansas.
