Shawnee Mission South student Stella Shapiro has been named by the Arts Council of Johnson County as a 2017 Shooting Star finalist. The Shooting Stars program honors Johnson County high school students for achievement in the literary, performing and visual arts through recognition and college scholarships. Shooting Stars award recipients will be announced at the 20th annual Shooting Stars Gala from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, at Johnson County Community College.

Genovaite Nauroniene and Sanislovas Nauronis of Siauliai, Lithuania, announce the engagement of their daughter, Zivile Nauronyte, to Dr. Micaela Wexler. Micaela is the daughter of the late Moshe Wexler and the late Rebecca Raeder-Wexler.

Elliot S. “Eli” Fish, formerly of Kansas City, was elected to the board of directors of the prestigious Diamond Club West Coast, headquartered in Los Angeles. Fish is president/CEO of Philip Wolman & Co., a third-generation prominent diamond and jewelry manufacturer established in 1919.

Benjamin and Lisa Rosen of Miami, Florida, announce the birth Dec. 22, 2016, of a son, Dylan Louis Rosen. They are also the parents of Gabriel Diaz.

Grandparents are Larry and Roberta Rosen of Leawood; Aldo Lajes of Camaguey, Cuba; and Lilly Torres Colon of Miami. The great-grandmother is Marion Rosen of Overland Park.

Rachael and Chet Shalley announce the birth Jan. 15 of son, Brody Robert Shalley. He is the grandson of Idelle Williams of Independence, Missouri, and the late Robert Williams; and Jack and Becky Shalley of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. He is the grand-grandson of Betty Williams of Independence.
