Sonja Silver-Dunbar, 56, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center. Graveside services were held Aug. 14 at Mount Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Jewish Community Center.
Sonja was born Dec. 28, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Robert and Harriett (Rubin) Silver and was a lifelong area resident.
She attended Center High School, volunteered at the Nature Center in Kansas City and was an animal lover.
Sonja loved to travel and plan vacations, ride their Harley and take trips to Sturgis.
She was an early member of the Kansas City BBQ Society.
Sonja was preceded in death by her mother, Harriett Silver, in 2011, and is survived by her husband, Scott Dunbar; daughter and son-in-law: Jessica and John Harper; father: Robert Silver; brother: Vic Silver and three granddaughters: Charleigh, Veronica and Alexandria.
