Raleigh Sue Wallace, 70, of Overland Park, Kansas, died Friday, May 12, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association or charity of the donor’s choice.
Raleigh was born July 17, 1946, to the late Dr. Sheldon Ellis and Gloria Berenson. She received a BA in Spanish from UMKC and an MS in sociology from the University of Arizona. She married William A. Wallace on Sept. 24, 1971. Together they raised their family in the Kansas City area. Together they operated several businesses over the next 30 years in Kansas City. Later Raleigh worked as a payroll manager and retired in the summer of 2016. She was a member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, was an avid reader and enjoyed her orchids, her family and her grandson.
Survivors include her husband, William A. Wallace; daughters, Shana and Micah; grandson, Aaron Renfert; and siblings, Mark Berenson, Arlene Berenson and Marianne Berenson.
