Osadchey, Joan W.

Joan W. Osadchey, 87, passed away peacefully in her home in Los Angeles on June 26, 2016. Joan was born and reared in Kansas City by her parents Milton and Rosebud Waldner.

She married Kansas City native Earl Osadchey, son of Nathan and Libby Osadchey. In the late 1940s, Joan and Earl moved to the Los Angeles area. Both Joan and Earl began their dedication to synagogue life in Kansas City. Their effort to perpetuate Jewish values never left them. Earl was widely known as a leader in Boy Scout Troop 2 sponsored by Temple B’nai Jehudah.   

Joan will be deeply missed by her children Rabbi Shaul (Bobbie), Alan (Stephanie), Dr. Bruce, and Lori (Carlos), her grandchildren, Marc (Louise), Miriam (Steven), Nathan, Benjamin, Ilana (MIchael), Ryan and Laila, and her great-granddaughters, Sophie and Alexa. Joan was preceded in death by her loving husband, Earl.   

Funeral services took place on June 28, 2016, at Eden Memorial Park in Los Angles. Donations in Joan’s memory may be made to Temple Ramat Zion, 17655 Devonshire St., Northridge, CA 91325.
