Reicher, Sally

Sally C. Reicher, 81, Leawood, Kansas, died June 26, 2015, at home. Graveside services were held June 28 at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice Foundation. 

 

Sally was born May 2, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Louis and Ruth Cohen. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}She received a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Missouri in 1956, and worked for ABC News in Chicago until her marriage. She married Richard Paul Reicher in 1960 and lived in Kansas City until her death. 

Sally was an active member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah Sisterhood, and received the Shoshana Award for outstanding community service. She was also active in the Kansas City Council of Jewish Women, where she chaired the Sarah and Milton Feld Scholarship Committee to aid women over 35 returning to school. She was active in Leawood and Johnson County civic affairs and served for 15 years on the Leawood Board of Zoning Appeals.

Sally is survived by her husband Richard P. Reicher; daughter: Terri Reicher of Bethesda, Maryland; son and daughter-in-law: Richard and Denise Reicher of Kansas City; daughter and son-in-law: Leslie and Daniel Cardenas of New Market, Maryland; grandchildren Carli and Rylee Schwee and Daniel Cardenas II.
