Allan Friedson

Allan Friedson, 70, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at The Louis Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your favorite charity or the American Cancer Society.

 

Mr. Friedson lived in Leawood, Kansas, and St. Louis, Missouri, before moving to Naples, Florida, in 2006. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}He attended the University of Missouri – Columbia where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree. He then earned his Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy at the University of Missouri – Kansas City and was a licensed pharmacist in both the states of Kansas and Missouri for 38 years. He also served as a medic in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1967 to 1973.

Mr. Friedson was the regional vice president for 300 drug stores in the Midwest while residing in Leawood. He then relocated to St. Louis where he served as a senior vice president of retail operations for Medicine Shoppe International, Inc.

Allan was an active member of the National Association of Chain Drugstores, the American Pharmacy Association and served on the board of the American Cancer Society of Greater Kansas City, Missouri. Throughout his life he had a great passion for golf with good friends that was only second to his compassion and care for others.   

Allan was preceded in death by his parents: Barney and Florence Friedson; and his sister and brother-in-law: Barbara and Kurt Gerson.

He is survived by his two sons: Scott and Dan Friedson, who he often said were the most wonderful part of his life; his very loving daughters-in-law: Beth and Kahmeela Friedson and his beautiful granddaughter who adored her Papa Allan, Sophia Friedson; his nephew: David Gerson; and nieces: Deborah Lindenbaum and Linda Gerson. He will be sorely missed by Carol Tannenbaum and all of his friends at the Vanderbilt Country Club in Naples, Florida.
