Chronicle adds paywall to website

Beginning with the issue of Jan. 8, The Kansas City Jewish Chronicle is changing its website, www.kcjc.com, from a free website to a site available to subscribers only. Print subscribers will receive a digital subscription at no additional charge.

The cost of a digital subscription, needed for those who wish to view The Chronicle online only, is $29.95 per year. A digital subscription may be purchased on the website, www.kcjc.com, and paid for by using a credit card. Once paid, digital subscribers have immediate access to the website.

Print subscribers are entitled to a free subscription to the digital edition of The Chronicle. Each subscriber’s username is the name printed on the mailing label on the newspaper. Case doesn’t matter, but spaces do matter. The password is the number located to the right of the name.

Here’s an example: The mailing label reads Sam Smith 7980. The user name is sam smith. The password is 7980.

Once a subscriber has successfully entered the website, he or she will be able to see all the top stories, obituaries and Bar Mitzvahs that they have come to love viewing on kcjc.com!

Subscribers who have difficulty logging in to the website should email  your name and address to . We will check on the problem and email you your login information.
