Kenneth “Kenny” Herman, 90, died peacefully in his sleep on Aug. 21 in Overland Park, Kansas. He was born on Nov. 28, 1935, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Betty (nee Pohatchevsky) and Abraham Herman.
Kenny is predeceased by his parents and wife, Hazel. He is survived by his two sons, Steven (Rosyla) and Jay (Terri); daughter, Lisa Roe (Mickey); brother, Sam Herman (Janice); five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Kenny worked as an electrician before, during and after his many decades in the casino industry on the Las Vegas Strip, where he eventually became a pit boss at Caesars Palace.
Besides his many relatives and friends, he was fond of Honda Gold Wing motorcycles, desert tortoises, certain small dogs, bowling, the Cincinnati Reds and a post-prandial whiskey ginger ale.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Midbar Kodesh Temple in Henderson, Nevada; Kehilath Israel Synagogue in Overland Park, Kansas; or the charity of your choice.
A service and burial were held on Aug. 25 at King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery in Las Vegas.
