The Kansas City Jewish community is invited to celebrate Jewish Heritage Night at the K on Tuesday, Sept. 8, as the Kansas City Royals take on the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The evening will serve as a post-Maccabi Games celebration recognizing the donors, volunteers, host families and athletes who helped make the 2026 JCC Maccabi Games possible.
As a thank you to all JCC Maccabi Games 2026 host families, volunteers and athletes, The J, Jewish Federation of Kansas City and Jewish Community Foundation will provide complimentary tailgate access to everyone who participated in the Games.
The evening will honor various community members, including the on-field honorees: Diane and Steve Azorsky, Erin and Aaron Berger, Sondra and Frank Friedman, Danielle and Sam Levine, and Beth and Michael Liss. The First Pitch and First Catch honorees are Larry and Jonathan Fry; the Play Ball Kid is Theo Buchbinder; and the Buck O'Neil Legacy Seat is Rita Cortes. 2025 KC SuperStar Winner Rayna Key will sing the national anthem.
A valid game ticket must be purchased to access the tailgate. Registration to the tailgate will close on Thursday, Sept. 3.
The celebration begins with a Vaad-supervised kosher tailgate at 5 p.m. in the Hall of Fame Tent inside the stadium. Guests should enter through Gate A. The menu, catered by Kim’s Kreations, will feature a nacho bar with Impossible chili meat served in a Royals nacho helmet, along with water and soft drinks.
Game tickets and tailgate tickets must be purchased separately. To purchase Jewish Heritage Night theme tickets, tailgate tickets or register for complimentary Maccabi participant access, those interested can visit thejkc.org/royalsgame.

Fans who purchase a Jewish Heritage Night theme ticket will receive an exclusive Jewish Heritage Royals hat. Hats will be distributed only inside Gate A to guests who present an eligible theme ticket purchased through the event link. Gate A opens at 5 p.m., and attendees must pick up their hats before the end of the second inning.
Theme ticket prices will gradually increase as game day approaches, so guests are encouraged to purchase early for the lowest available price.
Discounted parking passes may be purchased at the same time as game tickets. Guests attending the tailgate are encouraged to select a reserved parking pass for access to the lots closest to Gate A and the tailgate location.
