Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy’s (HBHA) graduation ceremony will celebrate the growth, learning and experiences that have shaped the seniors throughout their time at HBHA.
The community is invited to attend this year’s ceremony, which will take place on Monday, May 11, at 7 p.m. at the Lewis & Shirley White Theatre at The J. Families, alumni, faculty and friends are welcome to join in recognizing the Class of 2026 as they reach this milestone.
Each year, HBHA’s graduation works to reflect the school’s core commitments: academic excellence, character development and connection to Jewish life and values. The students who take the stage are recognized for their academic achievements and for who they have become as young adults.
A defining feature of the ceremony is the student speeches. Each graduate shares reflections from their HBHA experience, offering personal insight into the moments, relationships and lessons that have shaped their time at HBHA. These speeches are delivered in both English and Hebrew, highlighting the language proficiency students develop through years of immersive learning.
The ceremony also includes a d’var Torah delivered by a community leader. This year’s d’var Torah will be given by former HBHA Board Chair Rita Cortes, who is retiring from her position as executive director of the Menorah Heritage Foundation.
“As we celebrate the Class of 2026, we are proud to honor not only their accomplishments, but the integrity, curiosity and character they bring to the world beyond HBHA,” HBHA Head of School Annie Glickman said.
