The Greater Kansas City Section of the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is celebrating the graduation of three scholarship recipients who have completed their college education.

Originally receiving their scholarships as graduating high school seniors, these students received financial support from NCJW throughout their four years of college. In addition, ten current recipients remain eligible to continue receiving scholarship funding as they pursue their degrees.

“For more than 80 years, our scholarship program has been about more than financial assistance — it’s about believing in students and supporting them on their journey,” said Ellen Portnoy, chair of the Scholarship Program. “Watching these students graduate from college is incredibly meaningful for the scholarship donors, our organization and our members.”

NCJW administers the Scholarship Program, which reflects the organization’s mission to improve the quality of life for women, children and families by expanding access to education and opportunity. Through its donors, volunteers and supporters, NCJW continues to invest in students who demonstrate both need and promise.

“These graduates represent the future of our community,” Portnoy said. “We are honored to have played a small part in their success and are excited to see all they will accomplish next.”

Applications for the 2026–2027 school year closed on April 15. New awardees will be notified this summer.
