Hadassah Greater Kansas City Chapter President Elizabeth Bamberger is leading the local fundraising campaign for Hadassah Hospital in Israel, where every dollar raised will help construct an underground pediatric operating room designed to protect the hospital’s youngest and most vulnerable patients.
“When sirens sound and rockets fly, doctors still need to save lives,” said Rita Shapiro, Hadassah national board member and past local Hadassah president. “This secure underground facility will allow surgeons to continue treating critically ill and injured children — every single child, regardless of their race, religion, citizenship or their parents’ political beliefs.”
Donations received by Dec. 31 for the underground pediatric operating room will be tripled through Hadassah’s matching program.
