The Lawrence Jewish Community Congregation (LJCC) will hold its Annual Blintz Brunch and bake sale on Sunday, Nov. 2. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
An annual tradition going back to 1963, the Blintz Brunch is the LJCC’s biggest fundraiser and the day when the congregation opens its doors to the broader Lawrence community. It is an opportunity to support the egalitarian Jewish community in Lawrence, Kansas, while enjoying Jewish comfort food, including sweet blintzes, rugelach, challah and babka.
For the second year in a row, the Blintz Brunch will also feature member-made savory blintzes, fresh traditional-made bagels and specialty items for sale in the day-of bake sale. Bagels and bake sale items are only available the day of the Blintz Brunch. All other items can be ordered in advance by visiting blintzbrunch.org. Orders must be placed by Oct. 26.
This year also features the return of the silent auction, a long-standing tradition that has been on hiatus since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The LJCC will also be showcasing its art collection with support from the Douglas County Heritage Events and Celebration Fund.
