KC Torah MiTzion Community Kollel will hold a pre-Rosh Hashanah “Ted Talk” style event in addition to continuing its weekly free Hebrew conversations at The J.

KC Kollel is an organization designed to provide meaningful Jewish and Israel-related programs for the community and is led by Tehilla and Benny Feldman.

The pre-Rosh Hashanah style event, which includes support from Kehilath Israel Synagogue (K.I.) and Congregation Beth Israel Abraham and Voliner (BIAV), will feature four “Ted Talk” style presentations. The 20-minute presentations will take place between 8 and 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the home of Jennifer and Jake Schlozman.

The presenters and presentations will be:

  • Rabbi Mark Glass of Congregation BIAV — “Why We’re All Gill-ty of Misreading Yonah: Whales, Fish, and Our Great Mistake”
  • Tammy Sandler — “Why I Never Make My Children Say Sorry”
  • Rabbi Moshe Grussgott of K.I. — “The Denzel Washington Character Who Models Perfect Repentance"
  • Tehilla Feldman — “The Courage to Change: Teshuva in the Corporate World”

Attendees are welcome to spend some or all the evening, and refreshments will be served. Those interested in attending can email for the address and more information.

This event is in addition to the weekly KC Kollel Shulchan Ivrit (Hebrew table) in the lobby of the Jewish Community Campus. On Mondays at noon and Tuesdays at 12:20 p.m., KC Kollel hosts free and open Hebrew conversations for all community members. This program is done with support from Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy, whose Ram’s Cafe kosher restaurant is adjacent to the lobby.
