MARY ANN EVELOFF BURNS — obituary

 

 

Mary Ann Eveloff Burns, 92, Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, in Grandview, Missouri. 

She was born March 14, 1927, in St. Joseph, the youngest of four children.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Rachel (Shane) Eveloff of St. Joseph; brother Philip Eveloff of St. Joseph; sister, Sylvia Ruth Eveloff Feldman, R.N. of Kansas City, Missouri; brother Bernard Eveloff of Kansas City, Missouri; sister-in-law, Marcia Bortnick Eveloff of Kansas City, Missouri;  granddaughter, Amy Michelle Burnstein of Kansas City, Missouri.

Survivors include sons, Steven Burnstein (Brenda), Tim Burns, Dennis Burnstein, all of Kansas City, Missouri; grandsons, Brett Burnstein (Gina) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Paul Burnstein, California; great-grandchildren, Alena McClary (Jon), great-grandson, Braedon Burnstein, Maya Burnstein, Lillian Burnstein, Ryan Horvatic (Jenny), Sarah Horvatic, Shawn Horvatic (Sirena), Kaylee Horvatic, April Dinwiddle (Michael), Ian Dinwaddle, Dylan Dinwaddle, Kylee Dinwaddle, Gabriella Dinwaddle; great-grand-grandson Hudson McClary; sister-in-law, Kismet Clayman Eveloff of St. Joseph, nieces and nephews, Stephanie Feldman Fehr (Don) of Rye Brook, New York, Teri Joy Eisen of Olathe, Kansas, Renee Puterbaugh (Tom) of Gainesville, Virginia, Ron Feldman (Deborah) of Canyon Country, California, Jennifer Welsh (Steve) of Camdenton, Missouri, Susan Long (John) of Parkville, Missouri, Valerie Rowlett Hass (Mike) of Trimble, Missouri, Leslie Tuttle (Gregg) of St. Joseph, Scott Eveloff (Ruth Eisen) of Leawood, Kansas, Sherri Boresow (Steve) of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Lori Zobel or Tucson, Arizona; and 43 great-nieces and -nephews and numerous cousins.

Her hobbies included sewing clothes, gardening, baking and watching old movies. 

Services were held with family Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, at Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, followed by interment at Shaare Sholem Cemetery in St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the National Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
