Glassman, Gertrude 'Trudy' (Stolov)

Trudy Glassman, 94, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Nov. 14, 2017, at the Kansas City Hospice House. Graveside services and interment were held Nov. 16, 2017, at Rose Hill Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggest donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society Mid-America Chapter.

Mrs. Glassman was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and was a lifelong area resident. Trudy retired from Bank of America after 20 years of service, and then worked at Sears, Roebuck, & Co. for over 10 years. She was a member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, Hanick Family Club, Club 100, AARP Red Bridge Chapter, and Manual High School Alumni Association. Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Hannah (Hanick) Stolov; her husband, Jack Glassman, who died in 1989; her infant brother, Leslie Stolov; sisters, Ruby Krantz and Edith Meyers. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Judy Glassman, North Potomac, Maryland; her daughter, Melanie Glassman, Kansas City, Missouri; her sisters, Pauline Fish, Arcadia, California, Bobbi Smith, Torrance, California, and Marlene Rafsky, Aurora, Colorado; grandsons, Ben Glassman, Germantown, Maryland, and Daniel Glassman and his wife Lisa Haas Glassman and their son, great-grandson, Joshua Glassman, all of Great Neck, New York. She is also survived by her dear friend, Kenneth Blacker, Kansas City, Missouri.

Family was most important in Trudy’s life as a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was warm hearted, and always expressed kindness to all she met. She was surrounded by her family who remained at her bedside during her final days. She will be missed by all who knew her.
