Davidow, Madelyn

Madelyn Davidow, 75, passed away peacefully on Oct. 10, 2015, at Kansas City Hospice house, after a very brief hospital stay.

Madelyn was the daughter of Louis and Dorothy Davidow. Her beloved twin sister, Carolyn, passed away in 1972 after a five-year battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}In many ways Carolyn’s death defined Madelyn’s life, Carolyn was her anchor.

Madelyn recently moved to the Atriums in Overland Park. The family would like to thank Lucille Tutera and her staff for their wonderful care. Gratitude goes to Missy, Gayla and Paula who cared for Madelyn as their own and made a difference in her life. Finally, the family would like to express appreciation to Dr. Tamano, the nurses and staff at Overland Park Regional and the nurses and staff from Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care.

She is survived by her brother Ron and his wife Sheryl. She is also survived by Kim Lewis (Jay) and Allison Pearlman (Ted) to whom she was a devoted aunt. Most of all, she loved her great niece and nephews Mckenna, Keaton and Oscar. Other survivors include her longtime friends and the love of her life Noel Zidel.

A graveside funeral was held on Oct. 12, 2015, at Kehiilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care, KU Hillel, or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.{/mprestriction}
