Luchen, Maurice Nathan

Maurice (Maury) Nathan Luchen, 82, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away on Oct. 7, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services were held Oct. 9 at The Louis Memorial Chapel; burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah or a charity of the donor’s choice.

 

Maury is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ida Jean, of the home; son: Bruce Luchen (Ann), Overland Park, Kansas, son: Andrew Luchen (Andrea), Olathe, Kansas, son: Charles Luchen (Jennifer), Overland Park, Kansas; and grandchildren: Eric Luchen, Katie Luchen, Alex Luchen, Michael Luchen (Gina) and Brad Luchen.

He was born Nov. 28, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late John and Bessie Luchen. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}Maury served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a photographer followed by a successful career in sales. He owned Kansas City Air Filter until his retirement in 1996. After retirement, Maury enjoyed traveling the world with his wife to places such as China, Germany, Egypt, Russia and his favorite country, Israel, which he visited three times. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and gardening, but most of all the visits and conversations with his family who meant so much to him. Maury was a member of the Retired Old Men’s Eating Organization (the ROMEOs) and he and his wife were members of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, Overland Park, Kansas.
