Sadie Davidoff, 95, of Dallas, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013.
Graveside services were held on Nov. 25 at Shearith Israel Cemetery in Dallas with Rabbi David Singer and Cantor Itzhak Zhrebker officiating. Sadie was born on Nov. 4, 1918, in Kansas City, Mo., to Molly and Joseph Shapiro. Her love for Judaism was exemplified by her time devoted to Beth Yeshurun (Houston) and Shearith Israel (Dallas) Sisterhoods and Hadassah. Sadie spent countless hours volunteering for these and other worthwhile organizations.
She will be remembered for her strong independence, love of arts and thirst for knowledge. Above all, family was the heart of Sadie’s life.
Sadie was preceded in death by her husband Jake Davidoff; brother, Ben; sisters, Rose and Adele; daughter-in-law, Melanie Davidoff; granddaughter, Phyllis Unell; and great-grandson, Ryan Goldblatt.
She is survived by her sons, Charles, Ronnie (Anne), and Mark (Tina) Davidoff and her daughter Barbara (Jack) Wilpon; grandchildren, Bill (Shirley) Davidoff, John Unell, Matthew (Rebecca) Wilpon, Melissa (Scott) Comisar, Joanne (Andy) Goldblatt, Scott (Nicole) Davidoff, Andy Davidoff, Ben (Jennifer) Davidoff, Andrea (Brian) Langus and Jordan Davidoff; and 10 great-grandchildren.
