Sunie Levin, age 89, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at Menorah Medical Center at noon on Jan. 26, 2021, surrounded by family. Although her birth name was Marian, she always went by the name of Sunie.
Shirley Sandler passed quietly before breakfast on Jan. 28, 2021, in Encinitas, California. She was born on Sept. 24, 1931, at 2545 Park, Kansas City, Missouri, to Harry Rube Sandler and Dora Gold Sandler, who were both Russian refugees.
Marshall H. Weingarten, 79, was born Jan. 2, 1942, in Milwaukee to Harold and Rose Weingarten. He was a 1960 graduate of Washington High School then went on to the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee where he studied chemistry and physics. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army with duty in Vietnam at the rank of sergeant.
Thelma Faye Diamond (Brahinsky) Bray, 95, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at her home in Columbia, Missouri. Born in Toledo, Ohio, Thelma lived over 50 years in the Kansas City area. She also lived in St. Joseph, Missouri, Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Gary was born Oct. 31, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Leon and Pearl Kretchmer. He graduated from Center High School in 1964 and received his undergraduate degree in the field of science and an M.S. degree in social work from UMKC. He was also a licensed counselor.
