Irma Rosenthal Weinberg, 97, Olathe, passed away Dec. 24, 2011.

Graveside services and burial were Monday, Dec. 26, at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, KC Hospice and Palliative Care, 10100 W. 87th St., Suite 100, Overland Park, KS 66212 or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Irma was born in Ibbenburen, Germany, and came to the United States in 1937. She was co-owner of Walter’s Market for over 30 years. She was a member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah and its Sisterhood, Pioneer Women, AMIT and an interfaith discussion group. Irma was known for her talents as a baker and cook.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter; son-in-law, Daniel Koden; brothers, Eric, Walter and Werner Rosenthal; and her daughter’s companion of 20 years, Fred Sachs.

Irma is survived by her daughter, Barbara Koden, Overland Park.

Barbara would like to thank KC Hospice and Palliative Care and its volunteers for their loving care during this difficult time, and the staff of Aberdeen Village and all of her friends and family.

Irma will live on in our love for her and in our memories.
