She worked and taught knitting at the Morningside Knit Shop, and was the initial employee of the Steuben department at Halls on the Plaza.

Louise was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law Jack and Frances Nachman, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bernard and Maxine Mayer.

She is survived by sons, Jack (Fran) Mayer of Mission and Laurence (Judith) Mayer of Overland Park; daughter Nancy (Joel) Ray of Columbia, Missouri; stepson Paul (Andrea) Rosenberg of Denver; granddaughters, Susan Mayer of Overland Park, Alison Mayer of Chicago, Jennifer (James) Reidy of Overland Park, Julie (Scott) Cummins of St. Petersburg, Florida, Elizabeth Ray of Seminole, Florida, and Ashley Rosenberg of Richmond, Virginia; grandsons, Daniel (Tina) Mayer of Overland Park and Eric (Jennifer) Rosenberg of Ventura, California; and 10 great-grandchildren.
