Dorothy Loeffler, 94, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013, at her home in Overland Park.

Graveside services were held at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery on Sunday, July 28, followed by burial. The family suggests contributions to the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy or Congregation Beth Israel Abraham & Voliner.

Dorothy was born in Kansas City, Mo., and remained a lifelong area resident. She was the only daughter of Isadore and Anna (Pasechson) Friedman. Dorothy was a commercial real estate broker and co-owned J. Loeffler and Associates and Cherry Rental Co. She was also part owner of Telecable Operations in Olathe, Blue Springs, Raytown, Independence and Lee’s Summit. She was one of the founders of Lenexa National Bank.

Dorothy was a lifelong member of Congregation Beth Israel Abraham & Voliner and past president of its Sisterhood. She also was a member of Hadassah, B’nai B’rith Women and Mizrachi Women. She was active in the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy Foundation.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Julius; and brothers, Jacob Friedman and Dr. Morris L. Friedman.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews: the Gortenburgs, Friedmans and Loefflers.

Dorothy was a consummate Texas Hold ‘Em player.
