 Two contestants were kicked off a Swedish reality show after having a conversation in which one said she hates Jews, while a third who remains has previously expressed support for neo-Nazi ideas on social media.

Last year’s KC SuperStar winner Maurissa Cunningham belts out her winning song. Preliminary auditions for KC SuperStar 2020 will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 8, and Wednesday, March 11, at the Jewish Community Center. Singers only need to attend one audition for the competition.

Ohev Sholom Sisterhood is announces it is again baking delicious hamantaschen for Purim. Purim this year is the evening of Monday, March 9, and the morning of Tuesday, March 10.

Kansas City Contemporary Dance.

A number of Kansas City’s most innovative and creative dance companies will perform at The Lewis and Shirley White Theatre at the Jewish Community Center (The J) on Sunday, March 1, as part of the fourth annual Open Stage Dance + Choreography Festival. These premier companies will feature some of the metro area’s finest dancers. This one-time only performance of original choreography will be at 2 p.m.

Ohev Sholom Sisterhood invites you to a movie matinee featuring “Strangers in Town” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at Village Shalom Social Hall. This movie is a touching, inspiring and timely documentary that highlights the diverse immigrant community in Garden City, Kansas, and its ability to live peacefully with each other.
