Two Kansas City nonprofits are teaming up to encourage people to make kindness part of their everyday lives through a monthlong campaign focused on connection and compassion.
SevenDays and Small Changes Big Shifts will launch their annual 31-Day Kindness Campaign on Wednesday, Oct. 14. The campaign invites people of all ages to practice simple acts of kindness that can make a meaningful difference and help build stronger communities.
Running through Friday, Nov. 13, the campaign will culminate on World Kindness Day. Participants can sign up from anywhere in the world to receive a daily kindness prompt by email, offering practical ways to connect with others and make a positive impact in their communities.
The campaign is powered by Small Changes Big Shifts, a nonprofit that helps young people make small, sustainable changes to support their physical and mental health, and SevenDays, whose mission is to overcome hate by promoting kindness and understanding through education and dialogue.
SevenDays was founded after the April 2014 shootings outside The J and Village Shalom that killed Reat Underwood, William Corporon and Terri LaManno.
“Kindness is love put into action. It starts small, travels farther than we’ll ever know, and has the power to create big shifts in our world,” said Dr. Michelle Robin, founder of Small Changes Big Shifts.
“This partnership unites two organizations committed to creating positive change through intentional acts of kindness,” said Mindy Corporon, co-founder of SevenDays. “By combining SevenDays’ charge to "Make a Ripple, Change the World" with Small Changes Big Shifts’ focus on holistic well-being, we aim to inspire individuals and communities to take small, meaningful steps that lead to big shifts in compassion and connection.”
The campaign is free and open to everyone, regardless of age or location. To participate, visit smallchangesbigshifts.com/kindness.
