KU Hillel is in the midst of its Spring 2026 semester and offering students career-building opportunities, traditions, and Jewish community at the University of Kansas.
This year, KU Hillel has placed a renewed emphasis on career readiness, working to equip students with pre-professional skills as they pursue internships and post-graduate opportunities. As part of this effort, networking expert, Jewish community leader and author Alana Muller visited Lawrence to teach students the art of authentic professional networking.

On Feb. 14, more than 80 students gathered for Bagels & Basketball, one of KU Hillel’s longstanding traditions. KU Hillel also hosted an Israel Shabbat on Feb. 27 with a meal prepared by students alongside the Kansas City community shlicha (Israeli emissary).
Looking ahead, KU Hillel is inviting the community to support Jewish life at the University of Kansas through a free March Madness Bracket Challenge tied to the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament. Students, alumni and friends are encouraged to participate and support KU Hillel.
“March Madness is all about community and a little friendly competition,” said Ethan Helfand, KU Hillel executive director. “Connecting with the broader community that supports our work allows us to continue building relationships nationwide, especially through one of true shared loves for all Jayhawks.”
