Nine-year-old Noah Unell, known as “The Menorah Man” by his friends and family, has a new exhibit titled “Eight” on display at Blue Valley Library.
Unell said his intent is “to bring light, hope and awareness to the Jewish community in Kansas City.”
Unell’s new exhibit, which opened on Nov. 24, consists of eight entirely new menorahs, one for each night of Hanukkah. The menorahs feature a combination of translucent and opaque dominos arranged by Unell for aesthetic balance and light refraction.
Unell has been creating handmade menorahs for three years, having exhibited his work at Village Shalom and the Lenexa Public Library. He has also sold many, including to raise funds in 2023 for Israelis affected by the Israel-Hamas War.
The exhibit will be on display at Johnson County Public Library - Blue Valley (9000 W. 151st St., Overland Park, KS 66221) and free to view from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
