The Lawrence Jewish Community Congregation (LJCC) will host its annual Hanukkah party featuring the lighting of the community menorahs, fresh latkes prepared by the “Fry Daddies,” arts and crafts and games for families.

The event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 20, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the congregation (917 Highland Dr., Lawrence, KS 66044).

This year’s party will feature live klezmer music from the Wichita-based band R&J Klezmer.

Doors will open at 5 p.m., followed shortly thereafter by Havdalah and the lighting of community menorahs. Dinner will be served with music and dancing to follow at 6:30 p.m.

“Our Hanukkah party is one of our most popular events,” LJCC Director Lara Giordano said. “We hosted over 100 community members last year, and we are so looking forward to welcoming everyone back again this year.”

This event is free and open to the public, although donations in support of the event are welcomed by LJCC, as are potluck contributions of salads, sides and desserts. Advance registration is requested at ljcc.shulcloud.com/event/hanukkah-party-let39s-get-lit..html
