Joel and Annette Fish announce the engagement of their son, Bryan to Christina Pace, daughter of Roberts and Jean Pace of St. Cloud, Minn.  

The bride-to-be graduated from St. Catherine University, St. Paul, Minn., with her Bachelor of Arts in fashion merchandising and minor in business. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}She is currently employed as a sourcing specialist with Target Corporation in Minneapolis, Minn. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Jack Michaels, and the late Roberts Pace, Sr. and Dolores Pace.

Brooke Michelle Badzin and Nathan Gabriel Fineman were married Oct. 11, 2014 at the Grand Ballroom in Kansas City by Rabbi Michael Zedek of Chicago and Cantor David Barash of Fox Point, Wisc. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}The bride is the daughter of Jim and Fern Badzin and the granddaughter of Fern Badzin, St. Louis Park, Minn., and the late Bernard Badzin and the late Murray and Eda Litton.

Steve and Judy Jacks Berman announce the engagement of their son, Joseph Michael Jacks Berman, to Sarah Riva Novick, daughter of Peggy Albertson of San Diego, Calif., and Robert Novick of El Paso, Texas. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}Sarah is the granddaughter of Sam Ellowitz and the late Grace Ellowitz and the late Ruth and Jules Novick. She attended UCLA, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology; and Long Island University where she earned a Master of Science degree in education, specializing in elementary special education. She is currently a candidate for Doctorate in Education in curriculum and teaching at Boston University in Boston.

Alex and Rebecca Nussbaum of New York City announce the birth Dec. 22, 2014, of a daughter, Annaelle Ruby. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}Grandparents are Ronna and Larry Nussbaum and Debbie and Sheldon Bootin of Houston. Great-grandparents are Elizabeth Nussbaum and Leon and Shirley Mucasey of Houston.{/mprestriction}

Janet and Simon Galapo announce the Bat Mitzvah of their daughter, Sara Elisabeth, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Congregation Beth Shalom. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}Elisa is the granddaughter of Lawrence and Margaret Goldstein of Prairie Village, Kan., and the late Maurice and Sarah Galapo of Dayton, Ohio.

Joanne and David Rizer announce the graduation of their son, Zachary Rizer, from the University of Missouri – Kansas City, College of Arts and Sciences. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}Zachary graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in physics with an astronomy emphasis on Dec. 19, 2014.

Rizer is the grandson of the late Charlotte and Nathan Gilbert and the late Virginia Rizer and the late Dave Rizer, Sr.{/mprestriction}

Brayden Daniel Cardozo, son of Alan and Sheri Cardozo, became a Bar Mitzvah on Nov. 15, 2014, on board Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Brayden in the grandson of Allen and Judy Cinnamon of Leawood and Max and Lenore Cardozo of Overland Park.

Missy and Jeff Goldenberg announce the Bat Mitzvah of their daughter, Mirra Tamar, at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 10, at Congregation Beth Shalom.

Mirra is the granddaughter of Barbara and Bob Palan and Marsha and Seymour Krinsky.

Andrew Borowick graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Missouri with a Masters of Accountancy degree on Dec. 20. He recently passed all four parts of the Uniform CPA Exam averaging a 94. The son of Jerry and Karen Borowick, Borowick plans to begin his career with PwC in Denver in January.

Sherry and Mike Blumenthal celebrated their 50th anniversary on Dec. 20. Joining them in celebration were Mike’s brother Larry Blumenthal; their four daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and John Brownlee, Jane and Joseph Martin, Wendy and Adam Petricoff, and Lisa and Ken Schifman; and 10 grandchildren Sarah, Jack and David Brownlee,  Leah and Danny Martin, Ben and Anna Petricoff, and Jared, Drew and Charlie Schifman. Sherry is the daughter of Dorothy Peltzman, who resides at Village Shalom. The happy couple was married by Rabbis Morris Margolies and William Silverman at the Muehlebach Hotel in 1964.
