Simone Rayna Van Buskirk, daughter of Joseph and Melisa Van Buskirk, will become a bat mitzvah on October 17 at Congregation Beth Shalom.
She is the granddaughter of Barbara Glasberg and Barry Glasberg (z”l), Nina Alvan-Martinez of El Paso, Texas, and Thomas Van Buskirk of Jacksonville, Florida. She has a brother, Garett.
Simone is a student at Leawood Middle School. She is in the school choir and is active in Jewish student organizations. She loves dancing, theatre, traveling, music, and spending time with friends.
For her mitzvah project, she is collecting donations for the Pet Resource Center of KC and the Starting Over Sanctuary in Israel.
