Hyman D. Seiffer, 72, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away on Feb. 14 at his residence.

He was born on March 3, 1951, to Robert Seiffer and Leah Gordon Seiffer.

Graveside services were held on Feb. 16 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org/donate.html). 

Hyman had his bar mitzvah at Congregation Beth Shalom, where he was a former member. He spent his time raising his two beautiful daughters. Hyman opened and ran two children clothing stores named The Sandbox in Overland Park and Olathe, Kansas. For the last 30 years, he worked at Walmart, most recently in the pharmacy department.  

Hyman is survived by his partner, Debbie Galler of Leawood; sister, Sondra Jacobs of St. Louis, Missouri; daughters, Leslie Gail Leftridge (Doug) of Nevada, Missouri, and Rachel Ann Long (Brad Urie) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; nephews, Danny Jacobs (Katie) of Los Angeles, California, and Robbie Jacobs (Beth Weldon) of Chicago, Illinois.
