Cissy Copilevitz, 80, passed away on Nov. 27.

Cissy was born on May 6, 1943, in Joplin, Missouri. Her parents were Henry and Hortense Cohn. Cissy’s arrival meant her brother, J.B., now had a little sister. The family moved from Joplin to Tulsa, Oklahoma, when Cissy was 10 years old.

Cissy attended the University of Oklahoma, where she met her future husband, Errol Copilevitz. Cissy and Errol have two children, Clay Howard Copilevitz of Des Plaines, Illinois and Dr. Cori Copilevitz Passer and her husband, Sam Passer, of Overland Park, Kansas. Cissy has also been blessed with two wonderful grandchildren, Harper and Murray.

Cissy is survived by her husband; children; grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Patti Cohn; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bruce and Kay Copilevitz; nephews and nieces; and so many dear friends.

Cissy and Errol were married for more than 58 years. Cissy was an outstanding wife, a brilliant grandmother and someone who had no difficulty attracting and keeping real friends. All who knew her will miss her dearly.

A special thanks to the “Dine with Cissy” team, to-wit: DeeDee, Felis, Carla, Ginzy, Robin, Sheryl, Amy, Cori and Sam.

Cissy’s family wants to thank her caregivers at Brookdale Overland Park and the great people at Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care.
