Sandra Shefa Meyer (nee Lichten) passed away suddenly on Sept. 17 at the age of 65. 

Born on Jan. 25, 1958, Sandy was raised in Lincolnwood, Illinois, and was a proud registered nurse with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois.

She and her husband, Loren, lived in Racine, Wisconsin, for 25 years, during which they raised a daughter, Rabbi Monica Kleinman (Jonathan), and a son, Phillip (Madelaine). After moving to Overland Park, Kansas, for nine years, she and Loren settled in Waxhaw, North Carolina. 

She had a lifelong love of beagles and provided wonderful lives for five pups.

She will be missed by her husband, children and grandchildren, Arthur Meyer, Amelia Meyer and Jacob Kleinman.

Graveside services were held at the Charlotte Hebrew Cemetery on Sept. 19. A minyan will be held in her memory at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 6:30 p.m.
