Noreen Greenberg, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and cherished member of the Jewish community, passed away on Aug. 22, 2023, at the age of 95.

Born on Dec. 1, 1927, to her adoring parents Ida and Meyer Krug, Noreen lived a life filled with love, compassion and dedication to her family and faith.

Noreen attended Paseo High School, where she was a student during World War II. Her unwavering patriotism shone brightly as she sold war bonds to support her country’s efforts. She was a shining star in USO shows where her vibrant spirit and talent brought joy to many. As a member of the Beta Alpha Gamma sorority and the acapella choir, Noreen’s passion for music and camaraderie bloomed. It was during these years that fate intervened as she met her lifelong best friend, Marvin Greenberg, who later became her beloved husband.

After attending business school and honing her skills, Noreen embarked on a remarkable life. She married Marvin, and together they dedicated their lives to family and community. Noreen’s devotion to her husband and children was unmatched.

She was active in the Jewish community, volunteering tirelessly and making a lasting impact. She was a past president of the Beth Shalom Sisterhood, a life member of Hadassah, B’nai Brith Women, and cast member of numerous Kiddi Capers children Theatre productions. Noreen’s involvement extended to the children’s PTA, where she often served as a room mother and a dedicated Girl Scout leader.

Known for her artistic talents and creative flair, Noreen directed and wrote fashion shows that captivated the community’s heart. She shared her love for art by taking up painting later in life, attending art classes, and letting her creativity flourish on canvas. Her warmth and attention to detail made her a sought-after bridal consultant at Jacobson Department Store, where she outfitted brides and bridal parties.

Noreen’s nurturing nature extended beyond her immediate family. She was a caregiver for her loved ones, providing unwavering support during times of need. A deeply religious Jewish woman, Noreen observed holidays and traditions with reverence, lighting Shabbat candles each week and honoring family members’ yahrzeits.

Noreen’s legacy of love, devotion and community involvement will forever remain in the hearts of her survivors.

She is survived by her children Gail and Larry Levinson, Steve and Lori Greenberg, and Jodi and Bill Rosenthal. Noreen’s memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren: Dana and Ken Persky, Amy and Adam Siegel, Harrison Rosenthal and Melissa Rosenthal; and her great-grandchildren: Bryan and Jason Persky, Ethan and Spencer Siegel. She leaves behind her loving niece, Cindy Daniels, and nephew, Mark Krug, along with numerous extended family members.

We honor a woman who not only embraced every role she undertook, but also left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have known her. She lived her life with unwavering dedication, compassion and a deep commitment to Judaism. May her memory be a blessing, and may her spirit continue to inspire all who were touched by her remarkable presence. The family would like to thank Dr. Donald Cohen, her caregivers at the Nantucket House, KC Hospice and Village Shalom for the attentive and loving care they gave to our dear mother.
