Elsie H. Bunsick passed away on Aug. 1, 2023, at the age of 96.
She was born in Dunkirk, New York, to David and Rose Haber.
Elsie and her husband, Larry, moved to Kansas City in the early 1960s, and she became involved in the volunteer program at Menorah Hospital. She also began appearing in the plays that Congregation Beth Shalom put on. Elsie loved playing bridge and was active at Oakwood Country Club, playing tennis and golf.
Elsie was known in her family as “little, but mighty.” She was married to the late Dr. Lawrence Bunsick for nearly 70 years, and together they had two children, Stanley (Denise) Bunsick and Barbara (Jeff) Weiner; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A private family graveside service took place at Rose Hill Cemetery on Aug. 4. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Elsie’s memory to The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, 12320 Nall Ave, Overland Park, KS 66209.
